Advanced Band

Age: 10+

Time: Mondays, 1:30 - 3:00pm
Annual class fee: $180*

The Advanced Band is the pinnacle of GCHFA's concert band program; students are accepted into this ensemble by audition only. In addition to performing in GCHFA's Winter and Spring concerts, students will participate in the highly-regarded Concert Music Performance Assessment (MPA).

During the week, students will be required to submit playing tests and listening homework through Google Classroom. Their homework will be reviewed by their instructor, and students will receive feedback to affirm or correct their work.

Participation in the Advanced Band is not just about performance; it is also about growth and camaraderie. This experience is designed to prepare students for future musical endeavors, whether they continue on to collegiate-level bands or pursue a lifelong passion for music. A yearly, non-refundable enrollment fee of $100 per student is due at time of registration;

this fee will increase to $125 on July 29, and to $135 on August 31.

Audition Material

Students are welcome to audition for any level of ensemble, however it is left to the committee’s discretion to place a student in the group that is ultimately best for their personal growth.
