Beginning Rhythm Section
Dive into the heart of music with our "Beginning Rhythm Section" class, a 6 - week course designed to introduce aspiring musicians to the foundational skills of playing in a rhythm section.
Each session is divided into two 45-minute segments. The first is dedicated to sectionals, where students will work closely with professional instructors specializing in their chosen instrument. The second segment brings all the students together to work as a full group. This ensemble experience is crucial, as it teaches the dynamics of playing in a band, listening to each other, and contributing to a cohesive sound.
Throughout the six weeks, students will learn three songs in various styles, including jazz, rock, and worship. The course culminates in a mini-concert, where students will showcase their newfound skills. This class serves as a stepping stone to further musical education, preparing students to begin Jazz Lab in the fall.
*Classes would be 3x this price without the generosity of our annual donors!
A yearly, non-refundable enrollment fee of $100 per student is due at time of registration;
this fee will increase to $125 on July 29, and to $135 on August 31.
