Dr. James Guyer
Boys Choir, Mixed Choir
James W. Guyer serves as the organist/choirmaster at St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Sarasota, Florida. He holds a Doctor of Music degree (DM) in organ performance and literature from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studied church music, improvisation, music theory, and choral conducting. His love for children and youth choirs began in high school when he was the accompanist for the Irving Boys Choir, revealing that both keyboard and choral music would be in his future. This passion led to the formation of a choir school at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and School, as well as the Siesta Youth Chorale. Dr. Guyer is an active organist and performs in churches all over south Florida. When not making music, Dr. Guyer enjoys spending time in beautiful “Old Florida” with his wife and four children.
