Carolyn Suda
Cello
Carolyn Suda, now Emeritus, was a member of the music faculty at Monmouth College and served as adjunct faculty at Knox College for over thirty years. As the principal cellist and soloist with the Knox-Galesburg Symphony since 1985, she frequently appeared in faculty recitals and performed internationally with the KGS Trio. She has dedicated much of her career to teaching cellists and leading various orchestras and ensembles at the university level. Her students have been placed at prestigious institutions such as Oberlin Conservatory, Peabody Conservatory, and Eastman School of Music. A Magna cum Laude graduate of Florida State University, she holds an MA in cello performance and pedagogy from Western Illinois University. Her greatest joy as a musician is seeing her students perform; nothing means more to her than their accomplishment and enrichment.
