Sharon Guerin
Junior Choir, Music & Motion
Mrs. Sharon Guerin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, Louisiana (now known as University of Louisiana at Lafayette) in 1983, graduating Magna cum Laude. Through her younger years she developed a passion for music - as a vocalist and a trumpet player. After working in her field of microbiology for 10 years, she moved to Florida with her husband and four children. She volunteered as Assistant Director of Children’s Choir at Epiphany Cathedral for four years, and then was promoted to Director of Children’s Music Ministry and served from August 2008 until May 2022. She expanded the program from one small choir and a few handbell ringers to two choirs (Cherubs for grades preK-2, and Chorister for grades 3-8), a beginning handchime choir, an advanced handbell choir, and a Jr. Cantor group. These students participated regularly in the Sunday mass and Holy days at Epiphany, performed in concerts in the community and for nursing home residents. She is currently a member of the St. Thomas More traditional choir and 5 octave Handbell Choir. She is also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes choir and is leading a new handbell choir there.
